In 2009 ANZAC Day falls on Saturday 25 April. The Victorian government has not gazetted a substitute holiday for the following Monday, therefore, Saturday 25 April is both a public holiday and a restricted trading day.
Employees will only be entitled to a day off with pay if their award provides for it. As a general rule, employees who work ordinary hours on a Saturday would probably be entitled to a day off with pay. Employees who work a standard Monday to Friday week, would probably not be entitled to an extra day's pay.
